Default Settings for Customers
Under Default Settings you may set your Default Name Servers and Default Contact Ids to ease the domain name purchase process. The system will prefill these Default Name Servers and Default Contact Ids for you every time you register/transfer a domain name. You will, however, be able choose different Contacts and Name Servers each time, should you prefer to select some other details.
To Set Default Settings
Login to your Customer Control Panel. 1 In the Menu, point to Settings -> Domain Specific and click Default Information. Here you may specify: Upto 4 Default Name Servers, and/or Default Contacts Ids Contact Types You need to click the Edit link next to each Default Contact Id. A new window will open listing all the Contacts created by you for that specific Contact type (as listed above). Contact Search Now, to select a particular Contact as the Default Contact, click the Contact Id link for that Contact. The selected Contact will now be displayed as the Default Contact.
Domain Name System (DNS)
The Domain Name System (DNS) is a distributed database, arranged hierarchically, containing records for domain names. The DNS system's main aim is to match a domain name to an IP Address. When a user types a domain name in a browser, the DNS translates the domain name to an IP Address.
Vulnerabilities were discovered in the DNS that allow a hacker to hijack this process of looking a site up on the Internet using the domain name. The purpose of such an attack is to take control of the user session to, for example, send the user to the hijacker's own deceptive web site for sensitive data collection. This lead to the introduction of Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC).
Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC)
Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) is a technology developed to protect against malicious activities like cache poisoning, pharming, and man-in-the-middle attacks. It adds digital signatures to a domain name's DNS to determine the authenticity of the source domain name. DNSSEC is a set of extensions to DNS that provides to DNS clients (resolvers):
Origin authentication of DNS data, Authenticated denial of existence, and Data integrity.
DNSSEC uses a digital signature to create a chain of authority. Then, it uses the chain to verify that the source domain name, which the DNS resolver returns, matches the DNS record stored at the authoritative DNS. If it cannot validate the source, it discards the response. This ensures that the user is connecting to the actual address for a domain name.
DNSSEC is currently supported for the following TLDs (domain name extensions):
By the Registry Operator: .COM .DE .EU .IN .ME .NET .NL .NZ .ORG .UK .US CentralNIC By Zinist India: .COM .IN .ME .NET .ORG
In order to manage your domain names, you need to search for them from within your Control Panel with Zinist India, and access their Order Information view.

Zinist India sends an e-mail to the Registrant of a domain name (under the extensions listed below) 6 months from the domain name registration date, and every subsequent year on the same day while the domain name Registration is in effect, reminding the Registrant to maintain updated Whois Contact Details. This e-mail is also sent to the Registrant of a domain name transferred into Zinist India from another Registrar:
.ASIA .BIZ .COM .INFO .JOBS .MOBI .NAME .NET .ORG .PRO .SHABAKA .TEL .US .XXX Donuts Domains 1
If a domain name was registered with Zinist India on 1-Jan-2003 for 3 years, Zinist India will send the Registrant of this domain name a Whois Data Accuracy Reminder e-mail on the 1-July-2003, 1-July-2004 and 1-July-2005. If a domain name was registered with another Registrar on 1-Jan-2005 for 2 years and was then transferred to Zinist India on 15-Apr-2005, Zinist India will send the Registrant of this domain name a Whois Data Accuracy Reminder e-mail on the 1-July-2005, 1-July-2006 and 1-July-2007.
As per the Whois Data Accuracy Specification introduced by Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and Numbers [ICANN] and effective from 1 January, 2014, every Registrar is required to verify the email address of the Registrant contact for each gTLD domain name, within 15 days of:
a domain name being registered with unverified Registrant Contact email address, a domain name being transferred in from another Registrar, the Registrant Contact being replaced by a Contact with an unverified email address, the email address of the Registrant Contact being modified to an unverified email address, OR an unverified email address being associated with a domain name, after the domain name is moved to another Account.
The gTLDs for which this requirement is applicable are:
.ASIA .BIZ .COM .INFO .JOBS .MOBI .NAME .NET .ORG .PRO .SHABAKA .TEL .US .XXX Donuts Domains 1
Accordingly, an email would be sent from the system to the Registrant Contact email address for verification, upon one of the above actions being performed.
If the Registrant Contact does not complete the verification process within 15 days, the domain name would be deactivated. It would then resolve to a page indicating the reason for the deactivation, alongwith instructions to activate the domain name. The domain name would be activated, once the verification has been completed.
During this 15 days duration as well as upon deactivation, it would be possible from within the Reseller / Customer Control Panel to:
update the Registrant Contact Details 2, AND / OR re-send the verification email, in case the Registrant Contact has not received it.
